Gilroy Gardens

Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park is located at 3050 Hecker Pass Hwy (Hwy 152) in Gilroy, CA and is California's only horticultural theme park featuring more than 40 family attractions including six majestic gardens, educational exhibits, rides and the world famous Circus Trees. The park was awarded a 2005 and 2006 Golden Ticket by International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) for Best Landscaping. (Source: Gilroy Gardens).  
Visitors can enjoy nearby Mount Madonna County Park. Uvas Canyon Park and Henry Coe State Park are popular for a variety of outdoor activities including horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking.   Gilroy Gardens was founded by locals, Michael and Claudia Bonfante, after selling their Nob Hill Foods supermarket chain to build the park. The park was a dream that took about 25 years to become reality.

The region includes numerous noteworthy wineries.

The city is home to Gavilan College.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority provides bus services and express buses to nearby San Jose, Morgan Hill and other surrounding areas. Air travel services are offered at the Norman Mineta - San Jose International Airport.
